Color Sensor

15 March 2012

In preparation for my materials project, I dived into color analysis with an adjd s311 color sensor. What I realised (thanks simon) is that for the cost of the chip (15 EUR for the breakout board plus an arduino and time to program it) and its quality (although it has 10bit resolution in each color it is not calibrated so analysing it and writing a calibration table, dynamics will decrease), it might be easier and more reliable to just buy a high-quality webcam (e.g. a PS eye) and work with a standard interface instead. We’ll see where it’ll lead to.
